also spelt "deocil"

In the Northern Hemisphere (Europe, USA, Canada), to walk deosil is to walk to the right or any movement that is "clockwise." The opposite of deosil is withershins.

In the Southern Hemisphere (Australia, South Africa, New Zealand) the opposite is true. Deosil is counter-clockwise and withershins is clockwise.
