Ground & Balance


Before You Start

Before starting Traditional Witchcraft rituals or any magical work, it is important to ground and balance yourself to avoid the drain of personal energy.

  • Stand or sit completely still. Do not cross your arms or legs.
  • Touch the floor/ground with your bare feet or the palms of your hands. Return to standing or seated position.

Undesirable energies that have built up in the body were drawn out instantly. You may note an inner calmness.


Visualization
Now you will do an effective visualization exercise that will relax your body and attune your mind in preparation for ritual or magic.

  • Visualize a strong Earth energy in the shape of a golden ball of warm light rising from the floor/ground and surrounding your feet. Every time you use this warm light it always brings relaxation.


  • Allow the golden ball to rise up slowly to your legs, then slowly up to your torso.


  • Then allow it to go slowly down each of your arms to the very end of your fingers.


  • Then allow the golden ball to rise slowly to your neck, then slowly up to your head. The ball of light then expands from the top of your head and grows to surround your entire body.


  • Stay in this warm, golden state of calm relaxation for a few moments. When you are finished, take three deep breaths of air, then start the ritual or magic.

This exercise takes a few minutes but will greatly improve your predisposition for ritual and magic. Of course, you can always do this exercise whenever you wish.

If you are new to visualization, it is an effective meditative technique that calms the body and mind, which is highly desirable for ritual or magic. If you have difficulty visualizing a ball, don't worry about it. Just know that it's there- even if you can't see it in your minds eye. With practice, many become able to "see" the ball whenever they wish. It requires practice.


After You Are Done

After rituals and magical work you should again ground and balance yourself in order to balance your energy level. Retaining too much energy would likely make you feel irritable or give you a mild headache or mild depression. Too little energy would result in feeling fatigued or out-of-sorts. It's easy to balance your energy level.

  • Touch the floor/ground with your bare feet or the palms of your hands.

This quick exercise releases and adjusts your energy level automatically for full, healthy functioning of the body.
